Secured Overnight Financing Rate

A benchmark interest rate representing the cost of borrowing cash overnight collateralized by U.S. Treasury securities. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York publishes SOFR daily based on transactions in the repurchase agreement market. It replaced the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) as the primary reference rate for many financial products and contracts.
