Settler colonialism

A form of colonialism where the colonizing power seeks to replace the original population of the colonized territory with a new society of settlers. This process involves the displacement or elimination of indigenous peoples and the establishment of a new, permanent colonial society. It differs from exploitation colonialism, which primarily extracts resources.
