Colonialism

A system of political, economic, and cultural domination by one nation over another territory and its people, often involving settlement and exploitation of resources. This historical practice established legal and administrative structures to maintain control and extract wealth. International law now largely condemns colonialism, recognizing the right to self-determination for all peoples.
