Syndicate

A group of individuals or organizations that combine to undertake a specific transaction or project, often one that is too large for any single entity to handle alone. In a legal context, it can refer to a group formed for criminal purposes, such as an organized crime syndicate. This type of association can also be legitimate, as in a syndicate of banks underwriting a loan.
