Uniform Transfer-on-Death Securities Registration Act

A model law adopted by many U.S. states that allows individuals to register securities, such as stocks and bonds, in a transfer-on-death (TOD) form. This designation permits the owner to name a beneficiary who will automatically inherit the securities upon the owner's death, bypassing the probate process. It provides a simple and inexpensive way to transfer certain assets.
