Certificate of origin

A document declaring the country in which a commodity or good was manufactured, produced, or grown. It is required by many treaty agreements and customs authorities to determine if the goods are eligible for import or subject to specific duties. A chamber of commerce or a consular office in the exporting country may be required to certify the document's authenticity.
