Acclimatization

The process by which an organism adjusts physiologically or behaviorally to changes in its environment, such as variations in temperature, humidity, or altitude. This adaptation occurs over a relatively short period, typically days to weeks, in response to new climatic conditions. It differs from adaptation, which involves genetic changes over generations.
