Acclimation

The process by which an organism adjusts its physiology or behavior in response to changes in its immediate environment over a relatively short period. This adjustment allows the organism to tolerate new conditions, such as changes in temperature or humidity. It is a reversible process, distinct from long-term evolutionary adaptation.
