Accumulated temperature

A measure of heat input over time, calculated by summing daily mean temperatures above a specific base temperature threshold. This metric is often used in agriculture and phenology to predict plant growth stages or insect development. The base temperature varies depending on the organism, but 5 degrees Celsius is a common value for many crops.
