African jet

A low-level easterly jet stream located over North Africa during the summer months, also known as the African easterly jet. It forms due to the strong temperature gradient between the hot, dry Sahara Desert and the cooler, moist Gulf of Guinea region. The jet's core is found at an altitude of about 3 kilometers with wind speeds reaching 10 to 25 meters per second.
