Somali jet

A low-level atmospheric jet stream that develops over eastern Africa and the Arabian Sea during the Northern Hemisphere summer monsoon. This strong easterly flow transports moisture from the Indian Ocean towards the Indian subcontinent, influencing monsoon rainfall. It typically occurs at altitudes between 1 and 3 kilometers above the surface.
