Zanzibar Current

A warm current that flows northward along the coast of Tanzania and Kenya, past Zanzibar, as part of the East African Coastal Current, which is fed by the South Equatorial Current where it meets the African coast. It flows northward throughout the year and is strongest during the southeast monsoon, when it continues into the Somali Current.
