Sonic anemometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009049
An instrument that measures wind speed and direction by detecting the time it takes for ultrasonic sound pulses to travel between pairs of transducers. It operates without moving parts, making it suitable for turbulent flow measurements and harsh environments. This device provides high-frequency data, often used in micrometeorology and flux measurements.
