Cooling-power anemometer

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004693

An instrument that measures wind speed by sensing the rate of heat loss from a heated element exposed to the airflow. As wind speed increases, more heat is carried away, requiring more power to maintain the element at a constant temperature. This type of anemometer is particularly sensitive at low wind speeds.
