Vertical-axis anemometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010004
A type of anemometer designed to measure wind speed, where the axis of rotation is oriented vertically. These instruments, such as the cup anemometer or Savonius rotor, are less sensitive to wind direction changes than horizontal-axis types. They are commonly used in meteorological stations for continuous wind monitoring.
