Drag anemometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005125
An instrument designed to measure wind speed by quantifying the force exerted by the wind on a suspended object. The drag force is proportional to the square of the wind speed. This type of anemometer is less common than cup or propeller anemometers due to its sensitivity to object shape and density.
