Aspiration thermograph

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003651

A recording thermometer that actively draws air over its temperature-sensing element to provide a more accurate and continuous record of air temperature. The forced ventilation minimizes errors from solar radiation and stagnant air, which can otherwise affect the sensor's reading. This instrument produces a continuous trace of temperature over time, often on a rotating drum.
