Beaumont period

A 48-hour interval used historically to forecast the risk of potato blight disease. The conditions are met when relative humidity remains at or above a specific threshold for a sustained duration, favoring the development of the blight-causing fungus. A Beaumont period is officially recorded when at least 46 of the 48 consecutive hourly readings of relative humidity are 75% or greater.
