Burn area

The total extent of land surface that has been affected by fire, typically measured after a wildfire event. This area includes both completely consumed vegetation and areas where vegetation was scorched but not fully burned. Remote sensing techniques, such as satellite imagery, are frequently used to delineate and quantify burn areas.
