Climatological division

A geographical area within a larger region, such as a state or country, that is delineated based on relatively homogeneous climatic characteristics. These divisions are established to facilitate the analysis and reporting of climate data, providing a more localized representation of climatic conditions. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) defines such divisions in the United States.
