Composite reflectivity

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004556

A radar product that displays the maximum reflectivity value detected by a radar throughout the entire depth of the atmosphere over a given location. This provides an indication of the strongest precipitation or hydrometeor returns, regardless of their altitude. It is often used to identify the most intense areas of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
