Custard winds

A local or historical name for cold, damp, and persistent easterly or northeasterly winds, particularly noted in some coastal regions of England during the spring. These winds are associated with chilly, unpleasant weather that can suppress temperatures and bring drizzle or low cloud cover from the North Sea. The origin of the name is uncertain but is part of regional weather folklore.
