Downslope windstorm

A severe weather event characterized by exceptionally strong, gusty winds flowing down a mountain slope. These storms form when stable air is forced over a mountain barrier, creating a hydraulic jump or wave that accelerates the air on the lee side. Wind speeds can exceed 100 miles per hour, causing extensive damage to property and vegetation.
