Dry snow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005165
Snow that has a low liquid water content, meaning it is composed almost entirely of ice crystals with minimal or no unfrozen water. This type of snow is characterized by its light, powdery texture and low density, making it ideal for skiing and snowboarding. Dry snow forms when air temperatures are well below freezing, preventing melting or refreezing of the crystals.
