Dry freeze
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005159
A condition where the air temperature drops below freezing, but the dew point temperature remains significantly lower, resulting in minimal or no frost formation. This occurs when the air mass is very dry, preventing the saturation necessary for ice crystal deposition. Such conditions are often observed in arid or polar regions.
