Black frost
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003939
A type of frost that occurs when the air temperature drops below freezing, but the humidity is too low for ice crystals to form on surfaces. Instead, plant tissues freeze internally, turning black and dying without visible frost. This phenomenon is particularly damaging to crops and can occur even when the air feels dry.
