Light frost

The formation of ice crystals on surfaces when the air temperature falls to or just below the freezing point, between 32 and 29 degrees Fahrenheit (0 and -1.7 degrees Celsius). This condition causes minor damage to sensitive plants. It differs from a hard frost, which involves lower temperatures and more widespread damage.
