Degrees of frost

The number of degrees by which an observed air temperature is below the freezing point of water, 0°C (32°F). This measurement quantifies the intensity of a frost event. For example, a temperature of -5°C corresponds to 5 degrees of frost, indicating a more severe frost than a temperature of -1°C.
