Deicer

A substance or device used to remove or prevent the formation of ice, particularly on aircraft surfaces or roadways. Chemical deicers work by lowering the freezing point of water, while mechanical deicers physically break or remove ice. Glycol-based fluids are commonly used as aircraft deicers.
