Self-healing of atmosphere
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008780
The natural processes by which the Earth's atmosphere removes pollutants and recovers from disturbances. This includes chemical reactions that break down harmful substances, deposition processes that remove particulates, and dynamic processes that disperse contaminants. An example is the oxidation of many trace gases by hydroxyl radicals.
