Self-collection

A process in cloud physics where cloud droplets or ice crystals collide and coalesce with others of similar size due to their random motions within the cloud. This mechanism contributes to the initial growth of precipitation particles, especially in warm clouds. It is distinct from accretion, where larger particles collect smaller ones.
