Warm rain process
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010087
The microphysical process by which precipitation forms in clouds that are entirely above 0 degrees Celsius, without the involvement of ice crystals. This mechanism relies on the collision and coalescence of cloud droplets, where larger droplets fall faster and collect smaller ones. It is the dominant precipitation formation process in tropical and subtropical warm clouds.
