Agglomeration

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003363

The process by which individual cloud or precipitation particles collide and stick together, forming larger particles. This growth mechanism is particularly effective in warm clouds where liquid droplets coalesce. It contributes to the formation of raindrops and the rapid growth of ice crystals in mixed-phase clouds.
