Del operator
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010465
A vector differential operator, denoted by an inverted delta symbol (∇), used to express the gradient, divergence, and curl of scalar and vector fields. It represents spatial differentiation and is applied to atmospheric variables such as pressure, temperature, and wind velocity. The Del operator is used in the mathematical formulation of atmospheric dynamics equations.
