Laplacian operator

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006873

A mathematical differential operator that calculates the scalar value of the divergence of the gradient of a function. It is often used in atmospheric science to describe the curvature of a scalar field, such as temperature or pressure. This operator appears in many physical equations, including those for wave propagation and heat conduction.
