Wet snow

Snow that contains liquid water, making it heavy and cohesive. It forms when air temperatures are at or slightly above freezing, causing some melting of the ice crystals. This type of snow can easily stick to surfaces and is a common cause of power outages due to accumulation on trees and power lines.
