Freezing precipitation

Any form of precipitation that falls as liquid water but freezes upon contact with surfaces that are at or below 0 degrees Celsius. This category includes freezing rain and freezing drizzle, both of which lead to the formation of glaze ice. Freezing precipitation can cause widespread disruptions, including power outages and dangerous travel conditions.
