Freezing point

The specific temperature at which a liquid substance transitions into a solid state under a given pressure. For pure water at standard atmospheric pressure, the freezing point is 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). The presence of dissolved impurities, such as salt, can lower the freezing point of water.
