Freezing nucleus
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005770
A microscopic particle in the atmosphere that acts as a site for the formation of ice crystals from supercooled water droplets. These nuclei can be natural, such as dust or pollen, or artificial, like silver iodide used in cloud seeding.
