Dryline
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005173
A narrow boundary in the atmosphere that separates a moist air mass from a dry air mass, characterized by a sharp gradient in dew point temperature. Unlike a cold or warm front, there is often little or no temperature change across a dryline. These boundaries are common in the central and southern Great Plains of the United States and are frequently associated with severe thunderstorm development.
