Faculae

Bright, luminous regions on the Sun's photosphere, appearing as irregular patches that are hotter and brighter than the surrounding solar surface. These features are often associated with sunspots and are more prominent near the solar limb. Faculae contribute to variations in the Sun's total irradiance.
