Forest meteorology

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005721

The specialized study of atmospheric processes and weather phenomena within and above forest ecosystems. This field examines how forests modify local weather, including temperature, humidity, wind flow, and precipitation, and how these meteorological factors in turn influence forest health and growth. It also investigates the role of forests in regional and global climate systems, including their impact on carbon cycles and evapotranspiration.
