Karst hydrology
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006765
The study of water movement and storage within karst landscapes, which are characterized by soluble bedrock. This field investigates the unique drainage patterns, groundwater flow, and hydrogeochemical processes in systems dominated by sinkholes, caves, and conduits. Karst aquifers are highly vulnerable to contamination due to rapid water infiltration.
