Local area coverage

A mode of satellite data acquisition or processing that provides high-resolution imagery and measurements for a specific, limited geographical region. This contrasts with global or full-disk coverage, which offers broader but lower-resolution data. Local area coverage is often used for detailed studies of particular weather systems or environmental phenomena, such as tracking hurricanes or monitoring localized pollution events.
