National Tidal Datum Epoch

A specific 19-year period chosen by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) over which tidal observations are averaged to establish tidal datums for a particular region. This epoch is updated periodically to account for long-term changes in sea level. The current epoch in the United States is 1983-2001.
