Nephanalysis

The process of creating a graphical depiction of cloud distribution and characteristics as observed from satellite imagery. A nephanalysis chart synthesizes data on cloud types, amounts, heights of cloud tops, and structural patterns like cloud streets or vortices. These charts are produced by meteorologists to provide a synoptic overview of cloud systems for weather forecasting and flight planning.
