Synoptic chart
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009471
A weather map that displays meteorological conditions observed at a specific time over a wide geographical region. These charts integrate data from numerous surface and upper-air stations, including atmospheric pressure, temperature, wind speed and direction, and precipitation. Forecasters use synoptic charts to identify and track weather systems, such as high and low-pressure areas and fronts, to predict future weather patterns.
