Neper

A logarithmic unit used to express ratios of power or field quantities, particularly in telecommunications and acoustics. It is defined as the natural logarithm of the ratio of two quantities. One neper is equivalent to approximately 8.686 decibels, providing an alternative scale for measuring signal attenuation or gain.
