Neper
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007823
A logarithmic unit for the ratio of two field quantities, such as voltage or sound pressure, equal to the natural logarithm of that ratio, so a ratio of e is one neper. For power quantities the level is half the natural logarithm of the power ratio. One neper is about 8.686 decibels.
