Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006540
A logarithmic measure comparing a quantity with a reference value of the same kind, as in a power level or a field level, expressed in units such as the neper or the decibel. In atomic and molecular physics the word also names an energy level, the energy of a stationary state of an atom or molecule, which may be shared by several degenerate states.
